We are inviting those interested in being financial mentors for our Microloan program to our newly revised mentor training on December 1
st. The St. Vincent de Paul Microloan Program provides low interest loans to those in our communities who have little or no access to regular banking when emergencies arise. We would also like to invite previously trained mentors to join us for this revised curriculum that includes more background on relationship building, mentoring, and financial tools as well as additional background on the Microloan program and payday lending. Revised by a team of mentors who attended previous trainings, you’ll be pleased to see the new curriculum. We will also briefly update you on the current status of the program, provide background on what home visitors should look for during a home visit, talk about how the county boards will make their decisions, and acquaint you with how to use
Your Money, Your Goals and other resources from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. If you already have a copy of
Your Money, Your Goals, please bring that to the training. You do not have to be a member of St. Vincent de Paul to be a financial mentor.
We will send you some basic information about the Microloan Program and the Mentor Training for you to read and watch prior to December 1.
Be sure to give us your name, your conference and your email when you RSVP so we can send you the preparation materials. RSVP to
