Come join us as we lift our voices together in praise. The choir practices from 7:30pm - 9:00pm on Wednesdays in the sanctuary. All skill and ability levels are welcome. The Choral Mass occurs weekly at 10:00am on Sundays. This is your opportunity to try something new. If you have any questions, please email Nathan.Medley@gmail.com or stop by after Mass for more details.
At Our Lady of Peace Church, we recognize music as an integral part of celebrating the Mass and Special Liturgies. In the Old and New Testaments, as well as church history there is much evidence of music being used for praise and worship. Readings and prayers were chanted, involving voices and a variety of instruments.
MISSION:
To support the liturgies by assisting the congregation in song and worship, providing liturgical music for Sunday, Holy Days, and other special rites.
We are fortunate at Our Lady of Peace to have a few very dedicated singers and other musicians who share their talents and enhance the experience of the Liturgy for all of us. Our music encompasses a variety of styles, periods, and cultures, always reflecting the lessons and/or seasons.
ACTIVITIES:
The choir leads the 10:00am Mass on Sundays from September through June, as well as special liturgies. Cantors lead the music for other weekend liturgies and during the off-season. The organ and piano are used for most Masses, and other instruments are added for regular and special occasions.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: If you would like to serve your Parish by lending your voice or instrumental talents, you would be most welcome. The adult choir is open to those 18 years of age and older. Other music opportunities are available to youth.
“Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts.”
— Ephesians 5:18-19.
