Recommendations - Summer 2008
Sacramental:
That we continue our nourishing and sustaining Eucharistic celebrations, other worship opportunities and evangelization efforts.
That we use our existing and new worship opportunities, primarily the Mass, to recruit and retain new and disenfranchised members to the parish – such as special Masses in celebration of youth and young adults.
That we continue our existing evangelization efforts and seek new opportunities for child, young adult, and adult faith formation.
That we promote opportunities to ensure the necessary and sufficient number of extra-ordinary ministers who understand the role and responsibilities of their ministry.
Strategic:
Establishment and expansion of volunteer and educational programs in our parish, utilizing outside resources like Diocesan programs and extra personnel. An example would be to have a youth mass with music.
To have Ministry Sunday become more inclusive and to be renamed Stewardship Sunday. This would provide an opportunity to update the parish census, to get parishioners email addresses for better communication and to have a talent and volunteer sign up to connect individuals with groups.
Fostering a sense of community with more parishioner involvement, improving overall communication through email, bulletin articles and a parish website.
Prioritize facility updates, improve utilization of our present space and make our buildings more accessible.
Sustainable:
An effort be undertaken to diversify membership of the Parish Council and Finance Committee, and each of those groups be charged with improving communication to parishioners.
Continued emphasis on growing the Endowment Fund
The development of a Facility Master Plan, with an emphasis on accessibility and space utilization of all buildings and consideration given to a pre-school and parish hall.&
Expand stewardship and volunteer opportunities for those who have more “time and talent” than “treasure”.
