David Johnstone is a seminarian for the Diocese of Columbus. He currently attends the Pontifical College Josephinum as a third-year theology student and helps out at OLP on the weekends. His home parish is Our Lady of Lourdes in Marysville, OH, which happens to be where he grew up and attended high school. He studied History at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he graduated in 2007. After graduation, he taught English as a Foreign Language in northeast China for 5 years, then worked for a couple years for the Salvation Army in Seattle, Washington, as a Disaster Case Manager. Upon returning to Ohio, David was received into the Catholic Church in 2017, then entered seminary later that Fall. He has enjoyed the many opportunities he has been given to serve in multiple parishes throughout the diocese while on summer breaks. During the 2021-2022 academic year, he served in the Ross/Pike Counties Consortium, learning about parish ministry from the priests and people. David enjoys hiking, reading (especially history and theology), learning languages, and having good conversations around the bonfire. He is very thankful for his family and friends who support him in his call to the Priesthood. Thank you, Jesus!
